When you move your touch screen over to the Super Training section, you’ll be shown a number of options. That was however until the introduction of the Super Training section in generation 6. In previous generations people weren't as aware as to what EVs were and while the Pokémon company did create items towards the growth of EVs, they did not have an out right chart that shows you how much EVs go to increasing a stat. When it comes to competitive game-play however, EVs are pretty much the deciding factor. EV training happens all the time without players noticing it and generally results in an equal spread of EVs. Now during normal game-play there isn't really much to be worried about.
These are extra points in the basic stats ( HP, Defense, Special Defense, Attack, Special Attack and Speed ) that get added on top of a Pokémons base stats. Trainers, breeders and contestants of all variety, I introduce to you the idea of Effort Values ( or EVs for short ).įor those of you who are not Pokémon Professors like Augustine Sycamore or myself ( I swear it’ll happen one day, just you wait and see!) you might not know about these things called EVs.
